Sea Bound (mandala 006)

This contemporary mandala is inspired by the energy of the sea and reminds me to be more like the plants that grow from the sea floor; to be firmly rooted and yet flexible enough to bend and sway with the energy of what happening around us.

My creations are hand drawn. I use primarily black ink, alcohol markers, colored pencils and graphite. My inspiration comes from the letting-go of internal and external expectations and the flow state of just being in the present moment; that place where time ceases to exist and we are free from all that defines us.

Creativity has always been a part of my life. We are all connected. Connection and connectivity are themes present throughout most of my visual art. I believe connection is at the heart of creation. A contemporary mandala inspired by the ancient wisdom of the Tao.

The Yin Yang embodies four principles: Opposition, Interdependence, Mutual Consumption, and Inter-transformation. All parts contribute to a whole (holistic view.) Yin and Yang is all about balance and understanding one thing in relation to another. All things have some amount of Yin and Yang within them.
